Doug Mastriano — a former Army officer who chartered buses to ferry protesters to Washington D.C. on Jan. 6, and who has declared the separation of church and state a “myth” —  the identical position of Atheists, is the GOP nominee for governor in Pennsylvania, and is now running a close race with Josh Shapiro his Democratic opponent. Mastriano beat eight opponents in the May primary to win the nomination. He is a QAnon follower who was a leader in the effort to undo 2020 election results in the swing state of Pennsylvania. He was also present for the events at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, though he claims he didn’t enter the building.
