Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou aka Vangelis… Vangelis did not read or write music. He played from memory and what a memory it was. He passed away at age 79. He heard music in his head since he was an adolescent. He played it first on a piano then used a keyboard and eventually taught himself to play music on many instruments. He was awarded a PhD. His appreciation of music ranks up there with Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Berloiz and seems to have been greater then them.
