There are plenty of reasons for governments to create holidays but not all of the reasons are proper for a multiracial culture. America however is not that culture and is moving fast away from it. Race is, unfortunately and against the principles of the beginning of America, a large part of America, much to the surprise and chagrin of many, many Americans who are disgusted at the lying that comes from government. Juneteenth, an exclusively black holiday has been imposed upon a mostly innocent America by a not so innocent part of our culture.
Juneteenth is an example of a fiat holiday, imposed upon the nation by an imperial city to promote a specific cultural agenda.
Perhaps a dramatic change in public ideas can restore Juneteenth to a celebration of abolition and liberty.
In the short term, unfortunately, Juneteenth will have far more in common with the ideological aims of Black Lives Matter and a celebration of Saint George Floyd to the continuing debasement and detriment of white America.
