At the risk of becoming an international pariah, Vladimir Putin may invade Eastern Ukraine. The results could be catastrophic for Russia. The sale of Russian energy to Europe could be transferred to the United States LNG tankers and oil tankers. That takes away Russia’s huge sales to Europe and simultaneously increases America’s sales of LNG and crude oil. That’s two huge disadvantages to Russia. In addition international energy suppliers would be pressured to stop shipments to Russia and encouraged to increase shipments to Europe. Vladimir Putin would be much smarter to work together with America to increase sales to America, South America, Australia and other places currently off-limits to Russia.
