One priest in Wisconsin said he assumed every priest was gay unless he knows for a fact he is not. Some priests say the number is closer to 75 percent. It’s often the ridicule gay men are subjected to that keeps them in the closet. It seems that sooner or later they have to come out because to them being gay is normal. It’s far from normal in the culture but gay men do not know how to be heterosexual. They just don’t know. How can they minster to herero’s? Well, … on matters of sex they cannot unless the sex is gay and gey sex is not a topic that’s taught in the seminary or preached or promoted in the culture. It’s presumed that priests are normal just as it’s presumed hetero’s are normal but for the priests that’s not a valid presumption What’s the lesson here?
First, don’t go to a priest for sexual advice or information because the chances it will be seriously distorted is very, very high. Second, if advice is given most likely it will be wrong.
