Robert Tracinski has a newsletter in which he said in all seriousness: “there’s nobody as dumb as a smart person….. ” Tracinski is of course wrong to think or say that. The correct way to say that is: “There’s no one as dumb as a dumb person.” That’s what dumb means. Dumb people are dumb… Smart people are not dumb…. by definition… Smart people are smart… They are at least as smart as it takes to be smarter than a dumb person…
