By calling for American voters to vote for Biden, Markle expressed herself in such a brazenly partisan manner and crossed a massive line which should now have serious consequences for her and her husband Prince Harry who both specialize in wanting to save their royal cake and the freedom to eat it. She lowered people’s opinion of her when she violated Royal protocol by getting involved publicly in the American election then came out for Biden who is going to lose.
The British Royals don’t do politics.
Not publicly, anyway.
It’s one of the cast-iron rules of being a member of the Royal Family – that you don’t spout off your own political opinions for public consumption because it would damage the integrity of the Monarchy.
On the Queen’s official website, it states: ‘As Head of State, The Queen has to remain strictly neutral with respect to political matters.’
This is because Her Majesty has to deal with governments of all political persuasion, both at home and abroad, and must be seen to be scrupulously impartial to them all. Not Harry who is besotted by Meghan, a bi-racial American who doesn’t give a fig for the opinions of others. Meghan is said to be smarter than Harry but in this case she showed how that’s not correct.
