All protests aren’t equal. Some are bad some are good and some don’t matter much. America was built on protest as some protesters protested the British tax on tea. The protesters dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor.
The essence of the black protests of today is against police brutality and the unequal treatment of blacks by cops. No one is in favor of police who go rogue. Punishment is the job of the court system, not the police but when a protester is shoved out of the way some people want to take that as oppression. The correct way to take it depends on the circumstances. Shoving someone who gets in the face of the police is correct. The amount of getting into their face varies but the best solution is to avoid getting in front of the police in the first place.
Protests have a time and place. In America it’s almost anytime, anyplace. That’s one of the elements of freedom. Destruction does not have a time or a place.
The police are here to protect people and their property. Protesters are people so they get protection. Rioters and Looters are not protected because destroying property is illegal. Police need to collect the illegal actors and get them in front of some justice.
