SOME FACTS. A strong man can develop perhaps 500 newton meters of force on a rope… Thats three hundred seventy foot pounds of torque. At 45 degrees one man could develop .707 times that force. That’s 261 pounds of pull on a chain. Each block is about 3.5 feet on a side, 46 cubic feet each. Each block of the monument is about 5,000 pounds. There are about 247 blocks per row.
