When the election is over the voting machines are opened exposing the counters that show the vote for each candidate. Suppose a candidate gets 100 votes. The corrupt politician reports it as 10 votes. The machine is closed and locked. No one can check on the vote unless a judge orders the machine re-opened. Getting a judge to do that is a complicated affair and usually doesn’t happen. When it does the corrupt count may not be revealed because the judge ordered a different counter to be read and forbid the corrupt counter to be reported. The candidate loses 90% of their vote. Happens every election. Take Bucks County, PA which has about 800 voting machines. If someone want’s to verify the Presidential Election Count every machine would have to be opened. So far as I know that’s never happened. Partly it’s because the politicians have made it almost impossible to get a judge to agree the machines should be opened and the counters checked. I’ve been involved in opening many machines over the years. Each time errors were found. Some errors were prevented from being recorded. A corrupt judge or a biased judge will refuse to recognize the correct coult. The result is a corrupt election. Perhaps only the sheer impossibility of a full re-count is the only thing standing in the way of an accurate count. Oh well. Politics is a dirty business.
