Rand could not get why Branden couldn’t wait around being celebrate until she was ready to resume their relationship. Rand wasn’t a sexually competant and active male so she could only imagine what it was like for Nathaniel. She could not know.
In addition, Rand was not as sexually motivated as Nathaniel so she didn’t grasp what was happening to him while she was busy writing but neglecting him. Rand was a female who didn’t grasp the enormous intensity sex causes in a male. Nathaniel had four wives. No doubt he had sexual affairs with other women including Rand. A minimum that’s five women with whom he ws intimate yet Rand expected him to run back to her arms after all of her neglect of him. Didn’t happen. Oh well.. Life happens that way.
In addition Nathaniel was more attractive than Rand. No info about the details of their affair but no indication it was anything extraordinary. She was less appealing to men than he was to women. Oh well.. Lets not have condemnation of either one because they didn’t insert the sex drive in themselves.
He writes quite a bit about the affair in “The Vision Of Ayn Rand”. A great read and recommended They aren’t reponsible for anything but their behavior. They were not alley cats but discriminating people. Enjoy the best of both of them. they were good people. Great, people really. They each deserve graceful respect and understanding.
