It was a gun-free zone so attendees were in the same defenseless posture and unable to defend themselves by shooting back as we’ve witnessed at:

DC Navy Yard (September 16, 2013),
Fort Hood (April 2, 2014),
San Bernardino shooting (December 2, 2015),
Orlando Pulse (June 12, 2016) and
Parkland high school (February 14, 2018).
Shooting people is done by crazy people. How to ban crazy people? We can’t — but we can defend ourselves and those we love by at least shooting back. If the coward at Gilroy had known there were people inside with guns he most likely would not have cut the fence, entered and opened fire. Gun free zones protect crazy shooters.
Strained thinkers like Julianne Moore don’t quite get this American freedom even though her American father was a paratrooper. Moore needs to examine her premises about freedom, guns and people. She’s good on a lot of other issues but she just doesn’t get how guns protect innocent people when neither the military nor the police are around.
