Congrats to each and all of the US Womans National Soccer Team for a great win over a determined Dutch team. Rapinoe gets another chance to be a patriot or not but she insists she will not visit the White House because the president is against some of the things she is for but she has nor revealed what those things are.
President Trump invited the team, the entire team to the White House. Most of the women want to go to honor America and to be honored by America. If the entire team goes you know it really is a team. If only Rapinoe refuses to visit the White House we will know she hates America and she should go somewhere she doesn’t hate to live. It’s up to her to prove she belongs on America’s team including where her heart and mind are.
OTOH; if Rapinoe is stuck on being a lesbian who is in love with another lesbian to the exclusion of truthful analysis of American politics and as a result she in unable to get her mind around heterosexuality, that means Rapinoe’s values, her entire value system which is her personal morality is so different because she is a lesbian. Because of her inability to control her bias she should be ignored except for her soccer achievements. Those are considerable. There’s no need to get into her bitter ideas and opinions about men, politics and the world outside of woman’s soccer.
