Sure, criminals use guns but so do non-criminals who save more lives with their gun use. Banning guns will stop the ability of each person to protect themselves.

What about the use of guns by the police? Those occasions must be counted as both offensive and defensive use of guns for the protection of innocent people. If criminals aren’t caught the non-criminals are in danger. That’s just common sense.

The most serious and consequential benefits of guns are deaths, injuries, and property loss prevented by people who use guns.
