Ok, OK, “Native American’s”, the group that has been living on the Reservations, jumped onto the national stage by batting a drum, to use Rush Limbaugh’s words, during their purposeful disruption of a MAGA march. Why were the descendants of Geronimo getting in the young faces of the MAGA people in the first place? After all, the MAGA demonstrators had nothing to do with the Red Race.
Because no one is supposed to say anything about Indians. They are an official oppressed group. Never mind they were unable to continue because their savage ways were overwhelmed by a better prepared culture that made them obsolete. Yes, they defeated Custer but their nomadic forest living era was simply passed over by history. That happened long ago but Chief Red Cloud aka. Nathan Phillips wearing a full-on Indian costume was in violation of common decency when he shoved his way up to the MAGA young man and beat his Indian drum inches from the young man’s nose. That’s rude. It was pre-planned but it backfired and made the young man the hero of the confrontation. He kept his cool and simply smiled at Red Clouds descendant.
There’s more. Since Red Cloud was dressed not in American clothes but in 100% Indian garb complete with the Indian drum and club there was nothing American about him as he rudely invaded the personal space of the MAGA man. Nothing American even though it came out later that the Indian was a VietNam American veteran but that was also FAKE. He was never in Vietnam.
The MAGA hat wearer was Nick Sandmann, a junior at Covington Catholic High School in northern Kentucky. A high schooler who was singled out and taunted by an aged Indian who is annoyed at America.
President Trump himself weighed in with several tweets as some news reports questioned whether the early criticism of the students was warranted. The president tweeted Tuesday, in part: “Nick Sandmann and the students of Covington have become symbols of Fake News and how evil it can be.” C’est Fini… Amen, brother.
