Life is far too short so loads of people save time by going as fast as they can. Unfortunately “Speed Kills” so law enforcement is determined to save lives and stop people from driving too fast. In Virginia they issue lots of speeding tickets to save people. The people try to save themselves so they get radar detectors which are illegal in Virginia.
There are tests of radar detectors on the internet. The best one is made by Uniden but it costs more than a speeding ticket. You can really save by not speeding so you don’t get a speeding ticket so you don’t need a radar detector.
If you are caught speeding in Virginia you can go to jail. That alone justifies the purchase of a radar detector and hiding it so the cops don’t see it. Easy enough to do if you mount it outside the car but the best place for a detector is higher than putting it in the grill area or in one of the other openings in the front of the car. Put it on a reverse sunvisor clip or hide it next to the rear view mirror behind the black film up there.
But some cops get behind you so you need two detectors, one in front and one in the back to find out when you’re being painted by radar.
Plus, when a speeder detects radar they hit the brakes hard. The cops see that and know you have a detector in the car. Now you’re really in trouble. Best plan is not to keep up with fast moving traffic. Just travel under the speed limit and hope someone doesn’t crash into the back of your car. Don’t bother to try to save some time and speed or try to keep behind other speeders and hope the cops don’t pick your car to stop.
If your car stands out, like it’s red or yellow or neon green you will be easier for the cops to follow you and give you a ticket. Don’t bother to re-paint your car, just don’t speed and hope someone doesn’t crash into the back of your car. .
