John Waltman and Bob Hoopes faced a third round of charges for wrongly using their Lower Southampton Township government positions according to the Feds. Somehow the Feds gave Hoopes $400 grand in cash and asked for a check for $320 grand. They say it was a sting operation. Seems like it was a deal that was too good to pass up. Why would anyone pass on it?

W & H took $1,000 total to “fix” a DUI and tried to get $10,000 a year for ‘consulting fees’ for 30 years to get a billboard along the turnpike approved. That deal didn’t get done but they apparently tried to get it done. Trying makes them guilty it seems so the Feds charged them. Of all that seems to be a whole lot of tax money to get some small town lawbreakers get judged it’s because it is. But 325 years is almost silly. Ten or 15 years would be more than enough ’cause they are already senior citizens and nobody gets out alive so why the overkill?? Is it because the Feds case is weak? ….. Maybe.
