Since so many of the players don’t like the fans, which is us, let them go get more of their own fans. Us fans can watch or do something else.
We can wash the car on Sunday. We can go to the movies on Sunday, Monday Night and Thursday night.
We can go to the corner bar or to a nice restaurant for a Sunday dinner.
Treat yourself to a shopping trip to the nearest mall or two during the game when the malls aren’t so crowded.
Go for a drive to look at the autumn foliage.
Sleep in. Those Sunday noon games are way too’ early for a weekend.
Read a book. Think of how quiet it will be around your apartment or dorm. It’ll be beautiful.
Go for a relaxing walk. Instead of trying to smuggle a nine dollar bottle of vodka into the stadium, why not take a 100% free and tranquil stroll around a local park.
Study or catch up on work. Whether your night plans are an evening on the town or a cozy night with Netflix, it will feel SO much better knowing that all your jobs are being taken care of.
Get to a cool restaurant that is usually super busy but might be dead because of the game.
Actually invest in that favorite hobby you never have time for.
Go hunting. Most of the other hunters will be glued to the TV watching the game so it’s much safer.
Call an old friend you haven’t seen in a while.
Go to a museum, art gallery, or library. The internet makes us forget how cool it is to see stuff in person! Grab a friend, or grab yourself, and take a trip to a some sort of public culture center.
Update your resume or LinkedIn account. Even if you love your current job, it is always smart to be ready to seize the next great opportunity! We no longer need to watch the NFL. It’s been ruined by barbarian players like LaBron and now by the black men who play football.
Pat Buchanan wrote: “For NFL players, coaches, commentators, owners and fans, it was an uncomfortable and sad day. And it is not going to get any better. Sundays with the NFL, as a day of family and friends, rest and respite from the name-calling nastiness of American politics, is over.
The culture war has come to the NFL. And Trump will be proven right. Having most players stand respectfully during the national anthem, while locking arms with other players sitting or kneeling in disrespect of the flag, is a practice the NFL cannot sustain.
