President Trump sent missiles into the sovereign nation of Syria. Who or what could have stopped him? No one has the power to stop an American president who wants to use offensively, the military. The rules do not restrain nor restrict his military actions but, … Congress must approve the money.

But Congress approved the money for the entire military. It approved the naval destroyers and the missiles that rained down onto Shayrat airfield. They were fired within 30 minutes and hovered over Shayrat then hit within 2 minutes. Congress knew nothing about how the missiles would be used but they paid for them. President trump didn’t worry about getting approval in advance. He acted within his powers as Commander in Chief. No one could have legally stopped him. It was his decision and it’s been immensely popular.

President Trump did not go to war in Syria. Congress did not declare a war against Syria. They could do that but it wasn’t necessary to have done that for President Trump to order the missile attack.

President Obama made the unilateral decision to go to war with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) while Congress has simply declined to weigh in on the matter. Kennedy went into Vietnam. President Truman did not go to Congress before he attacked Korea. Trump acted 100% legally when he sent the Tomahawks into Syria. Good Job Mr. President!!
