He got a boost with Catholics when Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput called Hillary a “scheming, robotic liar with a lifelong appetite for power and an entourage riddled with anti-Catholic bigots.” Chaput also wrote: with the “contemptuously anti-Catholic emails” of Hillary’s campaign team, “bad can always get worse.” In fact, in the view of many people, Chaput had written earlier, Hillary “should be under criminal indictment.”
He won two of the three debates against Hillary.
He benefited from Hillary calling Trump voters “Deplorables”.
He received loads of free TV advertising from Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, SNL and The View because they hated him so much they kept mentioning his name.
Ditto for the mainstream media that helped Trump with their free mentions of his name.
He convinced us he would get good deals instead of bad deals for America with China, Latin America and all of the other countries that have been taking advantage of America.
