It’s French, of course and delicious. Plenty of recipes online. Fresh ginger is necessary. Make sure the recipe adds a bit of flour or cornstarch to thicken the broth a bit. Add various spices. Use some sour creme or even a bit of cream cheese.
The best flavor comes from the right amount of fresh ginger and of course the carrots.
Takes about 45 minutes of cooking in two pots.
