If there was ever a cut and dried case of murder this is it. The most difficult element to prove murder is: “Intent” because it requires knowledge of the actual thought. But no one can see thought. A defendant can simply lie and say: “I Don’t Remember” even in the face of evidence that shows forethought. But Mangione did a load of planning before shooting Brian Thompson. Of course we cannot see “planning” so we use circumstantial evidence to prove it occurred.
