Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenblum (Ayn Rand) was born in Saint Petersberg, Russia in 1905. Nathan Bluementhal (Nathaniel Branden) was born of Russian immigrant parents in Ontario, Canada 25 years later. They became intimate while married to others; went their separate ways; tried to combine again but were very unsuccessful. Like Romeo and Juliet these were definately two star-crossed lovers. Nathan was brilliant. Rand was also brilliant but seemingly less so than Nathan. She became bitter when she attempted to re-kindle the romance from which she took a break to write Atlas Shrugged but found out Nathaniel had several affairs in the meantime but rand was unable to figure that she began their illicet affair while both were married to others. Why did it not ovccur to her that Nathan was a serial gigolo when that was how they began their relationship? In addition, Nathan was good looking while Alisa was dumpy and not so good looking so …. well… In the end these were just two really, really screwed-up love puppies who made it big… Very, very big.
