Along with Minneapolis and several other locations where crime and joblessness is high and success elusive, carrying a gun for self-protection is not only necessary, not having a gun can be fatal. The reason should be self-evident but it cannot be said aloud because of potential backlash from the leaders of the marginalized groups that frequent these areas.
