In the 1960’s when I went to Villanova University to study Engineering we had to make large Mechanical Drawings with wooden pencils sharpened with sandpaper which was on a small pad of sandpaper. The T-Square and plastic triangles smeared the graphite dust and it was extra work to keep the drawings clean. With the advent of computers and printers there is no longer much call for large mechanical drawings done by hand.
But since then I’ve been fascinated by pens and pencils. In 1974 in Hong Kong I bought a German made Faber-Castell 0.5mm TK-matic Mechanical Pencil. I still have and enjoy it along with scores of other pens and pencils by Pelikan a German company, Monteverde, an American company and many other brands and types of pens and pencils.
Unfortunately, for hand writing, the computer is far faster and more accurate. Even better is a Drawing Program, Corel Draw on my computer for decades. I use and enjoy it just about every day.
