In a highly misleading article Scientific American magazine titled: “No One Can Explain Why Planes Stay in the Air” HERE proves Scientific America doesn’t know as much about flying as they think.
Aircraft fly because the shape of the top of the wing produces a vacuum which sucks the aircraft up into the air. The lower part of the wing, the underneath part also produces lift by directing the air down which by Newton’s third law of motion states that every action produces and equal but opposite reaction also lifts the aircraft up.
