The speeding truck failed to negotiate the turn and flipped over onto it’s side releasing eight thousand five hundred, (8,500) gallons of gasoline that caught on fire, weakened the supports for the highway and caused it’s collapse. Trucks don’t just turn over. They are designed to travel safely around turns unless they are going too fast in which case, as here, they turn over onto their side, travel a few feet by skidding along which causes high heat which ignites the gasoline which in this case didn’t explode, it burned. A speeding driver caused the damage and the indications are that the bodt pulled from the wrieckage was his.
