It’s difficult and can be dangerous. It’s not like a car or a truck where you turn the wheel and the vehicle turns. Turning the wheel in an airplane tilts the wings. That makes the airplane lose lift which means turning the wheel makes the plane tilt, lose lift and go down. To turn the airplane requires the rudder be moved which means the foot pedals need to be pressed. Pressing the rudder pedal and tilting the wings makes the plane turn and descend. To continue flying at the same altitude means the airplane must be tilted up to prevent it from going down as the airplane is turned. That means the control wheel has to be pulled back. That slows down the airplane which makes it go down. To keep the airplane at the same altitude during a turn means the power needs to be increased. It means everything has to be moved to make a turn. Nothing simple,  natural or instinctive about all that. Bottom line: “Don’t try to fly an airplane without a flight instructor in the airplane.”

To repeat: Flying can be dangerous.

“Don’t try to fly an airplane without a flight instructor in the airplane.”
