Prince Joel Dawit Makonnen and Ariana Austin
Ariana Austin, a Washington, D.C.-born writer and arts manager, married Prince Joel Dawit Makonnen, a great-grandson of the last Emperor of Ethiopia, in 2017. Their wedding consisted of a weeklong celebration and ceremonies consistent with the Prince’s Ethiopian Orthodox religion.
