The polls should add up to a certain number, usually 100%. Biden is dropping because people are more inclined to vote for president Trump or less inclined to vote for Biden. If 5% more people decide to vote for Trump them 5% fewer people will vote for Biden and Biden’s percent will go down. If 5% fewer people decide not to vote for Biden then Biden’s share will go down 5%.
