How can Baltimore be made into a successful city with and for the present inhabitants inb about one month?
Based on historic patterns, Baltimore is on track to have 358 murders by the end of the year. It could exceed the tally in New York—a city with 14 times as many people. The number has passed 300 every year since 2015. Why? Mostly because of drugs. Sale and use of drugs unbalances Baltimore.
President Trump and Elijah Cummings should make fixing Baltimore a spotlight cause and use Baltimore as an example of what good-hearted, good thinking people can do to make a failing city turn around into a success.
First job: Sweep up and clean out the streets and sidewalks. That should take a month or more but not much more. Buy 25 new trash trucks. Hire three more trash collectors per truck. that’s only 75 people. Take all of the junk tires, tables, abandoned cars and the rest of the trash straight to the city dumps.
Second job: Catch and identify the street hoods and make them a deal. Stop the drugs and we’ll pay you.
Third; more and better police. This is rather simple. Hire more police and put them on the streets. Not riding around in cars, … walking. Two or three at a time walking the hood. Maybe as many as 200 would be needed, … maybe less.
Four: Pay snitches and keep them safe. More police; more snitches; less crime.
Five; Give every man a pistol to keep himself and his family safe. Give pistols to the woman who want them too. If criminals face the real possibility of getting shot they won’t engage in criminal activities. When they know every potential victim has a pistol they won’t attack them. This is almost so simple it needn’t be repeated but the anti-freedom people who don’t trust the people have made it almost impossible for a innocent man in Baltimore to get a gun. The result is only criminals have guns and the innocent people live in fear. Giving every man, all 250,000 of them, a $35 Smith and Wesson Saturday night special pistol, This will cost less than $9 million and it will stop a lot of crime as soon as the criminals realize they could be shot by a potential victim. That would lower the crime rate in about seven days. Can the men in Baltimore be trusted with a gun? The Military thinks so. It gives a gun to every one in the military at a minimum cost of 1.3 billion dollars but not one dime of that helps Baltimore as directly as giving every man in Baltimore a gun. Lets find out if more guns mean less crime as the statistics tell us.
In about two or three weeks Baltimore will become a cleaner, safer place thanks to brooms, the trash collectors, the cops and the guns. The total cost would be a great down payment to show the world how serious America is about fixing up one kinda broken city. How hard is this?
