More than Fire or The Wheel, Human life is more important. It’s a special kind of life that includes intelligence. Some people are far more intelligent than others but those with the lowest intelligence are still miracles. Their life is miraculous. their very existence is miraculous. That’s why human life is so protected and it is important to grasp that when thinking about conflict. Fighting, killing and war are not the normal state for humans; for individuals. The immortal words of Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence; that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Lberty and the pursuit of Happiness. that’s Jefferson’s way of describing the miracle of human existence.
