But should religion be part of sports?…. No! Religion doesn’t mix well. that’s why there have been and continue to be so many different religions. Love and hate are opposites except in sports where one team must concentrate on beating the other team. Sports is not about uniting, it’s the simulation of war and war hates losers. Religion however, at least the Christian religion is supposedly based on love even though it’s most powerful symbol is an execution. In the end however the American Soccer team deserves praise for winning. That’s what Soccer is about and any player who places other objectives above that should not be playing.
Losing is one of the worst feelings and the opposite, winning, as Vince Lombardi remined us isn’t everything; it’s the only thing. Winning is best. Be Best.
