I stopped going to McDonalds because they cheat me in change. They call it “Rounding” when it is actually “THEFT” and it has cost me in the last four transactions.

There is no penny shortage.

There are untold millions of them in circulation. They are not being made by the government at the moment but there are untold millions available.

    • Their policy is: If your total ends in 3¢ or 4¢, the restaurant will round the charge up to the nearest 5 cents. In this case, if your total is $7.43, it will be rounded up to $7.45.

 

    • So…. If your total ends in 3¢ give them one penny. They will have to round down and give you 5¢ for the penny. Same if it ends in 4¢. Give them two pennies and get 5¢ bck in change.

 

    Meanwhile, go to your bank and get several rolls of pennnies. Today I observed the McDonalds clerk had a load of pennies in the drawer. She was just not giving them out which I believe is theft.
