it is affected by loads of things expecially prior thoughts which come into play as new thoughts are created. Thoughts occur at a fantastically fast rate that is measured in microseconds in fast thinkers and much longer times in slow thinkers. Peeople experience thought as talking to oneself in their head. there is a vast range in the speed and depth of thought. People whose brain works faster have far more thoughts and far deeper thoughts than people with slow working brains. It is impossible to identify the thoughts of another unless they reveal them to you.

Thought Speed:

  • Fast pathways: Motor neurons and pathways linked to reflexes (thick and insulated with a fatty myelin sheath) carry signals at 70 to 120 m/s, approx. 156 to 270 mph.

  • Slow pathways: Pain receptors and some internal processing (unmyelinated fibers) transmit much slower, at 0.5 to 2 m/s, approx. 1.1 to 4.4 mph.

You cannot notice how fast you think or how fast other people think but sometimes, if you watch carefully you can see how long it takes for some people to react to questions. Another problem is how deep some people think. There is no data or tests that show Depth of Thought.
