Long ago, when I was a child growing up in the Oxford Circle section of Philadelphia, Christmas was the most exciting time of the year for several reasons. The gifts, of course and later when we began giving gifts instead of just getting them. The Christmas lights that changed over time from the large, colored glass bulbs to the current LED’s are all over and change the dark and dreary days of the Winter Solstice into happy, smiley evenings. The Christmas wreath’s, the green garland, the decorations all over the stores as we shop for everyday goods and special gifts show the importance of having other people in our lives. Christmas really is the best time of the year.
