Slightly after the Summer Solstice of June 20, 2024 the doors of the Fluehr Funeral Home in Holland PA opened for the wake of my good friend, neighbor of 48 years and High School class mate Joseph Glatz. Joe was a classmate at Father Judge High School from where we graducted in 1957, 67 years ago. Joe lived just short of 85 years in a house he loved and had built that was partly underground to conserve energy. Cooler in summer and warmer in winter, Joe had a wood burning stove that also burned coal. An engineer who worked for awhile at Rocketdyne in California, Joe really was a Rocket Scientist. He was also a great friend who baked cookies for his friends at Christmas. He was a loving family man with 3 beautiful daughters. Joe lived in a delightful area that had lots of trees and wildlife all around. We’ll miss him. I’ll miss him. I am happy he was a friend.
