It was around 1956 when I worked at Singers 15¢ Hot Dog Stand in Wildwood. They were served with loads of sauerkraut and were a big hit back then. We were allowed to eat and drink as much as we wanted so every night I walked home on the boardwalk from the center of Wildwood all the way to the end of ‘the boards’ and down 18th street to Aunt Caddies with a hot dog full of sauerkraut and a large milkshake. When I quit Mr. Singer said I ate more than I earned.
