What happened to Detroit? The rich moved out. The middle class sort of disappeared. The poor have nothing extra. They can’t rescue anything. 
This is how a great city disappears. It goes back into nature.
Detroit is not hard to explain. In a word, Government. Too much bad, corrupt overbearing and Socialist based government. Bad government didn’t grasp that government is to protect, not re-distribute. Government that ignored the simplest of human principles, I.e., theft is wrong. Welfare is theft. Socialism is the foundation of a welfare state. Social Engineering, Social Democracy, Progressivism, Living wages, the right to the wealth of others, “Socialism and it’s foundational texts are anti-human. Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
