It’s like a bonus in reverse. Welfare certainly causes crime. There’s more crime in welfare neighborhoods than in the suburbs. And welfare keeps hourly pay low because little importance is attached to working for money. In fact the love of money is the root of all evil so why work for things money can buy when you would get to love the money needed to buy the things.
