Mitt Romney in a brilliant and hugely important Foreign Policy Speech speech at Virginia Military Academy on Oct. 8th blamed the Terror Attacks on Terrorists, not as President Obama did on “people seeking Social Justice”. Obama decided to call Acts of Terror “man-made disasters” but they were still acts of terror by terrorists. Obama called America’s War On Terror “Overseas Contingency Operations”. President Obama nonsensically blamed a video for the 9/11/12 terrorist attacks in Benghazi and in 20 other places.

Mitt Romney talked about American Exceptionalism; about America’s history of strong principles; of global leadership; and about America’s ability to use great power to “shape history”. Instead, Romney said: “the president has failed to offer the tangible support that our partners want and need.” Romney contiuned: “our oldest allies have been told we are “pivoting” away from them.” The President has also failed to lead in Syria” and that “Putin’s Russia casts a long shadow over young democracies.”  He talked about Obama’s failure to support America’s friends and defeat our enemies. Romney also said “there will be no flexibility with president Putin” and that “the president has failed to support Israel and that “only a new president will bring the chance to begin anew” with Israel and with the Palestinian’s. Romney said “hope is not a strategy”, and “The first purpose of a strong military is to prevent war.”

Romney said “Our friends and allies across the globe don’t want less American leadership, they want more”. He talked about: “The torch America carries is one of decency and hope. It’s not America’s torch alone, but it’s America’s duty and honor to hold it high enough that all the world can see it’s light.”

That’s the way Americans lead.
