It used to be a three story JC Penny department store. Now it’s the Afrikmall that’s never opened. There was an announcement of it’s opening last July but the electric and fire alarm systems didn’t match the plans so the Grand Opening was held at a different place but for the black residents who came from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and other African countries it’s lacked an occupancy permit so it’s still closed.

What are immigrants from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and other African countries doing in Colorado where it’s far colder than they are used to? Never mind about that, where have they been shopping for their black products until now?

Never mind that too. Let’s applaud the vision of the planners for designing a project exclusively catering to black people and being built solely for improving the black community. Some wags are suggesting the white communities will benefit too from the outflux of black people from the white stores in the area. Nothing like multi-culti to help everyone. But hold the applause. After two years Afrikmall still isn’t open.
