President Obama purposely appointed two openly gay people to the U.S. delegation to the Sochi Olympics to send a political message to Russia and the world. He did it to show America refuses to stay out of the personal lives of individuals. In the process he walked all over the idea and the ideals of the Olympics.
Obama said: “One of the wonderful things about the Olympics is that you are judged by your merit, how good you are regardless of where you come from, what you look like, who you love and that I think is consistent with the spirit of the Olympics.”
How dumb is it to say you are judged by your merit when your merit is the sum of all of your incremental elements including where you come from, what you look like, and who you love? Obama knows that which is why he veered from doing the right things and actually appointed delegates because they are gay. The gay appointees should refuse to get involved with the Olympics because they are there only because they are gay. If they were not gay they would not have been appointed by Obama. We know that because that’s what the president told us.
For several decades the American Left has been forcing diversity down the throats of people. That’s immoral. The government especially is supposed to protect everyone, not separate Americans according to who they love. In fact, people who are not gay become resentful because gay people are selected, appointed and honored because they are not diverse but because they are gay. Forcing diversity doesn’t work. People who are not rewarded by special treatment know that certain people are given preferences and benefits not because they are meritorious but because they fit some special category. Just like Obama appointed two gay people because they are gay people.
Obama also made Putin look good because Putin didn’t object. Putin didn’t make a fuss. Obama is seen as an antagonizer, which is exactly why he sent gay people to Sochi.
