Capitalist culture was undeniably lessened in 2013.  America, no longer as free as it once was, has moved more towards Russia. Cuba and China in the tyranny of Socialism. Obamacare put another nail in the Freedom Culture.

America is no longer softly Socialist. The year 2013 showed the Tyranny of the Majority, the Oppression of All by All is in full plumage. Lincoln was 33 1/3% correct in his Gettysburg Address: “government of the people, by the people,  for the people, shall not perish from the earth”.

Certainly government is “of the people” everywhere and at all times. Government is not “by the people”. It is by some people; -an Elite, Powerful, Rapacious, Dangerous, full of palace revolts and Machievellian intrigues; the Nanny State; the IRS targeting Tea Party groups; massive NSA spying; Obama and Hillary dissembling over Benghazi; the  failure of the federal health insurance exchange rollout; government regulations that are so complex and vague it is impossible to know if you are in compliance. E.g., the 70,000-plus pages of Internal Revenue Service regulations and the 30,000-plus pages of Obamacare regulations

The Food and Drug Administration is supposed to identify bad food or drugs. It has morphed into an agency that keeps potentially beneficial drugs off the market and now is even banning DNA testing to stifle our ability to know what diseases to which we may be prone, thereby blocking our ability to take potential corrective or preventative action. The FDA has gone from being a protector to a Destroyer of Health and Liberty. Hard Socialism or Soft Tyranny??

The IRS was set up to collect taxes. It became a government agency to deny the right of free and protected speech, as shown not only in the harassment of Tea Party groups, but in demanding that certain (but not all) traditionally tax-exempt groups start providing their contributor lists to the IRS. Groups that most often stand for liberty and less government are the primary targets. Big Government as The Limiter of Liberty. What a coincidence.
